A little q&a about my reading habits…

Do you remember how you developed a love of reading?
I always enjoyed reading as a child, but it was when I began working in a bookshop when I was 17 that I became a total bookworm ๐Ÿ™‚

What are some books you loved as a child?
I loved the My Naughty Little Sister stories, the Faraway Tree, and Princess Smartypants!!

What is your favorite genre?
I read mainly chick lit, sci-fi/fantasy and young adult titles.

Do you have a favorite book?
Hmmm… the only book I have re-read more than twice is Emma by Jane Austen, so I guess that would be my favourite.

Where do you usually read?
On the train – my commute is hellish, but the plus side is I have a lot of time to read. It’s only when I’m really involved in a book do I read it on the couch in the evenings.ย  I also have an e-reader now, which is great for just having in my bag when I’m out and about.

When do you usually read?
during my commute, before bed and at the weekends.

Do you usually have more than one book you are reading at a time?
Sometimes… it depends if I’ve left my current book at work or not!

Do you read nonfiction in a different way or place than you read fiction?
I rarely read non-fiction, but when I do I read it in the same way

Do you keep most of the books you buy?
No, I keep non-fiction (mainly cookery books), but I like to pass fiction onto others.

If you have children, what are some of the favorite books you have shared with them?
I specialised in Children’s books at the bookstore so the list of books I’d like to share will be very, very long lol! But Picture Books that I have fallen in love with whilst at the bookshop – The Gruffalo, Aliens love Underpants, We’re going on a bear hunt, Commotion in the Ocean and the tiger that came to tea.

What are you reading now?

My Single Friend – Jane Costello

Do you keep a To Be Read list?
I will be putting together a Wishlist on my blog

Whatโ€™s next?
The sequel to Lisa Jewell’s Ralph’s Party – After the Party… after that something with werewolves methinks!

What books would you like to reread?
I tend not to re-read

Who are your favorite authors?
Lots!! Here’s a list in no particular order; JK Rowling, Stephenie Meyer, Jane Green, Adele Parks, Jane Austen, Dan Rhodes, Andrew Kaufman, Daniel Waters, Christopher Paolini, Trudi Canavan, Jennifer Weiner and Arthur Nersesian.
